A ceramic magnetic pin holder shaped like a thread spool. The built-in magnet holds pins and needles for easy one-handed pickup and storage.
Made as Hasami ware with Ishimaru Togei in Hasami, Nagasaki, a ceramics town with about 400 years of production history. The hollow center is lined with soft felt so needle tips are not damaged against ceramic. Needles can stand upright for quick access. The sides and base also hold metal tools; Cohana Seki Mini Scissors can attach to the side.
Works especially well for rounded-tip needles (such as cross-stitch) that are hard to push into a stuffed fabric pincushion. Also useful for paper clips and other small metal items at a desk.
