The Ruby Star Solids collection from Ruby Star Society is possibly our most versatile fabric because it works quite well both as a quilting cotton and as an apparel fabric for lined garments due to its high thread-count, buttery-soft hand-feel, and moderate drape.

Each color matches multiple products across the Ruby Star Society range, in addition to many other fabrics found throughout our shop. 

Whether you are dreaming up a lightweight top, a beginner-friendly quilt, or a soft, quilted jacket, the possibilities are truly endless.

We recommend

Everything. OK. Not quite everything, but this fabric works well for anything where a woven, lightly structured, non-knit fabric is required. Quilts, patchwork, pouches, and semi-structured cotton tops are our favorite things to make with this.

We would avoid using it for trousers, pants, or non-lined bottoms, but it works quite well for maxi skirts and dresses where you'd like slightly more structure, similar to Poplin.
